Fabrication and installation of the 10,000-barrel storage tank at the Umusadege field has entered its final phase, with hydrostatic testing scheduled for the end of the quarter. The scope covered shell plate rolling, floor and annular plate welding, and the full external coating system.
The tank was built to API 650 with a fixed cone roof, and every circumferential weld was radiographed on site rather than sampled. Our fabrication yard produced the shell courses in eight sections, which cut the number of field joints by roughly a third and took two weeks off the erection programme.
Working alongside the operator, the team completed the programme with no lost-time incidents across 46,000 man-hours. Site access was constrained through the rainy season, so the lay-down area was re-planned twice to keep the critical path clear.

Commissioning support continues into the next quarter, after which the asset transfers to the operator. The same crew has now mobilised to the adjoining bund and pipework package.
